Social media never sleeps and this week came with updates that you shouldn’t hit snooze on. Behind the scenes, ownership is getting more complex, sharing is getting more social, and feeds are becoming less mine and more ours. Read more below:

Social Media Trends for December 2025

The holidays (and the end of the year) are right around the corner! Check out our latest roundup of trends your business can take advantage of to create festive content that converts before 2025 wraps.

Social Media Trend #1: Crazy to Think

The holiday countdown is on and companies are using this trend to keep their businesses top of mind. Join in by putting the text, “Crazy to think… Christmas is just [X services away]” over a quick video or product shot.

Ideas for this social media trend:

  • Pair text like “Crazy to think…Christmas is just 1 automated report away” with a product gif showing how easy it is to use your product.
  • Remind customers of underutilized features to increase their efficiency and boost adoption before the end of the year.

Social Media Trend #2: Come on Superman

Creators are using the line, “Come on Superman, say your stupid line”, from the Tame Impala song, “The Less I Know the Better”, and adding in funny one-liners they’re known for saying.

Ideas for this social media trend:

  • Replace the punchline with a phrase your customers may hear often like “Can you resend that doc?”, and show how your product removes the need to ever say that again.
  • Source customer testimonials and use them as punchlines to serve as proof points.

Social Media Trend #3: I Spend 80% of My Time

The sequel of Mean Girls debuting this year has made one-liners from the iconic movie resurface. Companies are finding creative ways to repurpose Cady Heron’s line obsessing over Regina George to showcase what their customers (or employees) can’t stop talking about.

Ideas for this social media trend:

  • Reveal that your company obsesses over customer pain points (e.g. need for clean data, faster launches, etc.) and share a quick video highlighting your flawless solution.
  • Feature a best seller and share why customers can’t stop talking about it in the caption.

Social Media Trend #4: My Christmas List Then and Now

Nostalgia is sweet and this trend capitalizes on that. Creators and companies alike are posting side-by-sides of their Christmas lists from years ago and now, while also revealing their must-haves for the season.

Ideas for this social media trend:

  • Show how your product or service makes life easier for customers. For example, a Christmas list from the past may include a variety of tools and meeting invites, and now it only has your product.
  • Highlight outdated versions of your product in the past list and the leveled up versions in the current.

Social Media Trend #5: Private Story vs Main

Most of us show our best selves on our main, public Instagram Stories and let loose a bit on Close Friends. This trend is an authentic look at the contrast.

Ideas for this social media trend:

  • Show a polished company photo for the main Story and contrast it with a Close Friends photo showing the real chaos of employees working behind-the-scenes.
  • Share the V1 of your product in a Close Friends photo and a final version for the main Story to show how far you’ve come.

Social Media Trend #6: Santa Please

This trend is another fun way that creators are using to share what’s on their Christmas lists. Except this time, they’re secretly spelling out what they really want by capitalizing letters within each item of the list.

Ideas for this social media trend:

  • Choose short, high-impact words that highlight customer desires like “ease” or speed” and reinforce how your service delivers that in the caption.
  • Be more literal and spell out your product or service in the wishlist with a supporting high-quality photo to increase consideration.

Social Media Trend #7: 2025 Wrapped

This trend is almost over, but you still have a few days before the end of the year to share your company’s version of Spotify’s end-of-year “Wrapped” campaign, inclusive of interesting data such as best sellers, most used products, and more.

Ideas for this social media trend:

  • Show hours saved or automations run because of your product. This is an easy (and fun) way to spark engagement and increase new leads.
  • Take a more lighthearted approach and reveal data around panic attacks saved or errors avoided.
