Social Media News for March 2026

Social platforms are making major moves before the month comes to a close. Meta is paying creators upfront to post Reels to Facebook, aiming to win over those who have gravitated towards apps like TikTok and YouTube. They will pay $1,000 a month to creators with at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, and $3,000 a month to those with over a million followers on any of those platforms. Also, Instagram is testing clickable links in captions for verified users. This could signal a major shift, as creators and businesses would be able to avoid driving followers to the “link and bio” and more easily encourage conversion. Lastly, LinkedIn announced new tools for brands to maximize creator partnerships and increase awareness, including additional options to get placement alongside some of the most influential LinkedIn users and more ways to place video ads alongside publisher content in the app.
